On Tuesday in Spanish IB we had a surprise substitute...in both Spanish IB classes! She was different than most as she told the students' futures! Each student had his or her fortune told as we learned how to speak in the simple future. What a crazy day!
Today students brought their homemade game boards to class to play our Spanish version of the childhood game, Guess Who!. The game boards had photos of famous people or characters that students chose a couple of days before. They got in their groups and used their prepared questions about physical characteristics to narrow down who their partner had chosen. After students played awhile, we switched boards and played again, coming up with new questions on the fly!
This week in the 8th grade Spanish 1B class students wrote ten sentences about themselves. After some one-on-one conferences with Sra Risley, students assembled their final drafts with their pictures we took in class. Today, they got mail! Students read and replied to the self-descriptions from Señora Ericson's Spanish 1B class. It was so fun to see them reading about their peers and responding to them with questions and more description. On Monday students will get mail again as they read what their peers wrote to them!
